Gulbarga: DD, Art and cultural activities are important for national unity, said Karnataka Sahitya Academy Award winner Madnagudu Chinnaswamy. He was speaking at the inauguration of the SSF National Sahithyotsav in Gulbarga.
He said knowledge and cultural activities help ensure social peace and security. “Art and culture help us respond calmly in difficult situations. India’s Sufi heritage is proof of this,” he added.
The festival brings together artists and writers from across the country. Over 2,000 students from 26 states will compete in more than 114 events. Programs at the festival include a Writers’ Colloquium, Bande Nawaz Conference, and Edu Conference.
Prominent attendees included Prof. Ali Raza Moosvi, Vice-Chancellor of Bande Nawaz University; Dr. Khamarussaman Hussain Inamdar, President of Moinabad Medical College; Dr. Mohammad Farooq Naeemi Al Bukhari; SSF India President C.P. Ubaidulla Sakhafi; and General Secretary Dilshad Ahmed.DS
