Artisan Sudesh Kumar Turns trash into treasure, Creates unique products from waste

Kishtwar,(TDD): In a great example of creativity and environmental awareness, Sudesh Kumar, an artisan from Poochal, Kishtwar, has been crafting beautiful and functional products from discarded materials like cardboard and other waste.

Items that are often deemed useless have been given a second life through Sudesh’s skill of transforming trash into treasure.

Recognizing his exceptional talent, Assistant Director Handicrafts, Kishtwar, Pardeep Kumar (JKAS), along with AHTOs and Supervisor INDUSCOS, visited Sudesh’s sales outlet to view his creations. The team was thoroughly impressed by the variety and quality of his work.

Acknowledging the potential of Sudesh’s craft, the Assistant Director encouraged him to partner with the Department of Handicrafts to benefit from its various schemes designed to support artisans. He provided Sudesh with detailed guidance on how to register for innovative and modern craft initiatives and access government support for artisans.

The Department assured Sudesh of full assistance in areas like production, financial aid, and marketing, ensuring that his products reach a broader market. This guidance aims to enhance his craft while promoting sustainable and innovative practices.
