Udhampur,TDD,In a bid to promote awareness about the Good Samaritan law and encourage public participation in helping accident victims, An awareness program was organized by District Police Udhampur today at Bus Stand Phalata, (NHW).
The program, aimed at educating local residents about the importance of providing timely medical care and assistance to victims of road accidents, witnessed active participation from the local community.
The programme was chaired by Additional Superintendent of Police (Adl. SP) Udhampur Sh. Sandeep Bhat-JKPS along with SHO PS Rehambal. The officers led the session and highlighted the legal provisions under the Good Samaritan law, which protects individuals who offer assistance to accident victims from legal complications.
During the session, the speakers emphasized the importance of prompt medical intervention in accident cases and how it can significantly reduce fatalities. The participants were briefed on the rules and guidelines of the Good Samaritan law, and they were encouraged to help accident victims without fear of legal repercussions.
Chairing officers also urged the attendees to spread the word and create awareness in their respective communities about the importance of such noble acts of kindness.
Local people expressed their commitment to being more proactive in assisting accident victims, as well as in spreading awareness about the Good Samaritan law to others in their area.TDD
