Awareness programme on Next Generation ERSS Organised in Jammu Zone

Programme aims at sensitizing senior police officers and district-level functionaries about enhancing capabilities of NG ERSS

Jammu: An awareness programme on the Emergency Response Support System (ERSS) – Dial 112, recently upgraded to the Next Generation ERSS (NG ERSS–2.0) in Jammu and Kashmir, was conducted in Jammu Zone.
The programme was chaired by Bim Sen Tuti, IPS, Inspector General of Police, Jammu Zone, at the Conference Hall of Police Control Room (PCR), Jammu.
The meeting was attended by all Range Deputy Inspectors General of Police (DIsG) and all Senior Superintendents of Police (SSsP) of Jammu Zone, along with Incharge District PCRs, who joined through virtual mode.

While addressing the participants, the IGP, Jammu Zone emphasized the need for modernization of the police force through the adoption of advanced and latest technologies to enhance public safety.
He highlighted the critical role of the upgraded Next Generation ERSS in ensuring swift, efficient, and citizen-centric emergency response through its cutting-edge technological features.
Shailesh Porwal, Project Manager, CDAC, delivered a detailed presentation on the Next Generation ERSS, elaborating on its key features, operational framework, and technological advancements.
He also briefed the participants about the implementation and functioning of the upgraded system, which was officially launched in Jammu and Kashmir.
