Kishtwar, DD, An awareness programme under the initiative “Bharosa” was today organized at Government Girls Higher Secondary School Kishtwar by a dedicated team of Lady Probationary Sub-Inspectors (PSIs) from the Women Cell Kishtwar.

The programme aimed at educating the girl students about various legal rights, laws, and protections available to women under the Indian legal system. The team of officers sensitized the participants on key issues related to gender-based violence, cyber safety, domestic violence, child abuse, and the importance of reporting crimes without fear.

During the session, the PSIs highlighted various government schemes and helpline numbers available for women in distress. They also encouraged the students to be aware, vigilant, and empowered in order to stand up against any form of injustice or harassment.

The students actively participated in the programme, raising queries and sharing their concerns, which were addressed by the officers in a friendly and informative manner.

The initiative was well-received and is part of a broader effort by the Jammu and Kashmir Police to promote women’s safety, awareness, and empowerment at the grassroots level.DD
