Srinagar, (DD)The scenic Badamwari Garden in Srinagar’s old city is set to host the much-anticipated ‘Almond Blossom Festival’ today, organised by the Departments of Tourism and Floriculture. This vibrant cultural event celebrates the arrival of spring and the mesmerising bloom of almond trees, a cherished spectacle in Kashmir.
Chief Minister Omar Abdullah will be the chief guest, underscoring the festival’s significance in promoting tourism and cultural heritage. The highlight of the event will be a grand musical performance at 3 pm, featuring some of Kashmir’s most celebrated singers, including Noor Mohammad, Aayan Sajad, Irfan Bilal, and Zaid Sikandar.
Badamwari, renowned for its breathtaking almond blossoms, holds historical significance in Kashmir. Once a symbol of royal leisure, the garden fell into neglect before being restored to its former glory. Today, it serves as a beloved tourist attraction and a hub for cultural events, drawing visitors from across the region.
