BASIC LIFE SAVER CADRE AT GOVT DEGREE COLLEGE, MENDHAR

Mendhar: DD, The opening ceremony of The Basic Life Saver Cadre jointly being organised by Govt Degree College, Mendhar and The Indian Army was inaugurated on 23 Jun 2025 at Govt Degree College, Mendhar. The event saw a huge participation from college students who choose to utilize their vacation by volunteering for learning valuable skillset on fundamental Nursing and First Aid skills thereby fostering a sense of compassion towards community service.

The Cadre would be run by doctors of Indian Army with the dual aim of imparting knowledge of Basic Emergency and First Aid Skillset along with Community Well-being related issues of Mendhar Valley such as shelling injuries, Lifestyle diseases, Mental illness, Menstrual and Women hygiene, Liquor abuse, and Snake bite cases.
The event was graced by Commander Mountain Brigade, Prof Sarshad Hussain, Officiating Principal, Govt Degree College, Mendhar along with faculty members & Officers of Indian Army.

During media interaction, an army official said “Such initatives in the border region will promote community well being and help in inculcating healthy lifestyle through awareness and impart knowledge on Basic Emergency and First and Aid skills. Also, an enthusiastic student named from college while interacting with the Media said “Such Programs must be continuously conducted by the Indian Army in future for providing exposure to the students of the region”DD
