Bharat Tibet Sahyog Manch, J&K and Ladakh UT Submit Memorandum Seeking Liberation of Indian Territory occupied by China during 1962 Indo-China War

Jammu:DD, Members of Bharat Tibet Sahyog Manch (BTSM), J&K and Ladakh Union Territory today submitted a memorandum to Rajya Sabha, Member of Parliament (MP) Sat Sharma as part of its nationwide campaign for the recovery (liberation) of Indian Territory occupied by China during the 1962 Indo-China War.
As per a statement issued by the ruling Bhartiya Janta Party, this campaign is rooted in the historic resolution adopted on 14 November 1962, during the tenure of Prime Minister Jawaharlal Nehru, when the Indian Parliament unanimously passed a resolution affirming the nation’s determination to recover every inch of territory occupied by China.

The resolution emerged in the immediate aftermath of the Sino-Indian War (October–November 1962), during which China occupied significant portions of Indian territory, most notably Aksai Chin in Ladakh. Passed during a heated parliamentary debate following China’s unilateral ceasefire, the resolution declared India’s unwavering resolve:

“This House records its firm resolve to drive out the aggressor from the sacred soil of India and to regain every inch of our territory that China has occupied.”

This motion reflected a unified national stand across political parties, expressing the deep shock and anger felt by the country over China’s betrayal despite earlier commitments of “Hindi–Chini Bhai Bhai.”

More than sixty years have passed, yet successive governments have not taken a decisive step toward fulfilling this parliamentary pledge. Despite being in power for over forty-five years, the Congress government did not address this critical national issue.
In this context, the Bharat Tibet Sahyog Manch, J&K and Ladakh UT, led by Dr. Vivek Sharma, President, J&K and Ladakh UT, submitted a memorandum to Rajya Sabha MP Shri Sat Sharma.
The memorandum urged him to raise his voice in Parliament for the return of Indian land occupied by China and to help cultivate a supportive environment for this national cause. The BTSM expressed its heartfelt gratitude for his support and efforts.

Those present on the occasion included Rajinder Sidhotra, Dr Yudhvir Singh, Rekha Singh, and other dedicated activists.DD
