Reasi : TDD,In a surprising turn of events, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has outperformed expectations by winning two out of three assembly seats in the Reasi district of Jammu and Kashmir, while the Jammu and Kashmir National Conference (JKNC) secured the remaining seat.
The district, comprising three assembly constituencies – Shri Mata Vaishno Devi, Reasi, and Gulabgarh – witnessed intense competition that defied earlier exit poll predictions. In Shri Mata Vaishno Devi, BJP’s Baldev Raj Sharma emerged victorious with a narrow margin of 1,995 votes over independent candidate and former minister Jugal Kishore.
The Reasi constituency also saw a BJP triumph, with Kuldeep Raj Dubey defeating his Indian National Congress rival by a significant margin of 18,509 votes.
However, the Gulabgarh (ST) segment remained true to expectations, with JKNC’s Khurshied Ahamed securing a win by 6,780 votes over his nearest competitor.
Aijaz Ahamed secured the second position with 21598 votes and BJP’s Mohd Akram secured Third Position with only 11,652 Votes
This outcome demonstrates a shift in the political landscape of the region, with the BJP making substantial inroads while the JKNC maintains its presence in certain strongholds.TDD
