Jammu,(DD): National Conference (NC) chief spokesperson and MLA Zadibal, Tanvir Sadiq, on Wednesday slammed the BJP for allegedly disrespecting the July 13, 1931, martyrs, demanding that the party apologize in the Assembly.
His remarks come amid heightened tensions between the ruling NC-Congress alliance and the BJP opposition, which has been staging protests inside the House.
“BJP should apologize in the House for disrespecting the July 13 martyrs. Instead of creating a ruckus, they should focus on raising public issues that actually matter to the people of Jammu and Kashmir,” Sadiq said while speaking to reporters outside the Assembly.
“We Have a Mandate for Five Years, Not Five Months”
Sadiq also reassured the public that the NC-led government remains committed to fulfilling its promises, urging patience ahead of the upcoming budget presentation.
“Just wait for the budget. We have a mandate for five years, not five months. The NC government is here to work for the people, and we will deliver on our commitments,” he asserted, dismissing opposition claims that the government has been slow in taking action.
With the J&K Assembly functioning after seven years, the political landscape remains tense, as the BJP continues to challenge the ruling coalition on multiple fronts. However, Sadiq’s comments indicate that the NC is confident in its governance agenda and ready to take on opposition criticism head-on.(DD)
