Udhampur :TDD, Jammu and Kashmir’s BJP chief Ravinder Raina announced on Monday that the party will soon initiate the process to select the leader of opposition in the newly-formed J&K Assembly.
Following the felicitation of newly-elected BJP MLAs in Jammu, Raina stated that meetings would be held under the supervision of central observers to decide on the leadership position. BJP national general secretary and J&K in-charge Tarun Chugh, appointed as a central observer, confirmed that discussions with the new legislators and other party leaders would take place, with a report to be submitted to central leadership for further action.
The announcement comes after the BJP’s strong performance in the recent Assembly polls, where they secured 29 seats marking their best electoral showing in the Union Territory to date. Raina expressed gratitude to the people of Jammu and Kashmir for their support and highlighted the significance of the party’s improved performance compared to the 2014 elections.TDD
