Jammu, DD, The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has urged the Speaker of the Jammu and Kashmir Assembly to ensure that no “unconstitutional or anti-national” resolutions, questions, or bills are allowed during the upcoming budget session, which begins on March 3.
Senior BJP leader Sunil Kumar Sharma stated that his party would not tolerate any undemocratic or unconstitutional activities in the House. “During the all-party meeting, I requested the Speaker to conduct the proceedings impartially and not allow any such activities,” he said.
The all-party meeting, chaired by Speaker Abdul Rahim Rather, aimed to seek cooperation from political parties to ensure smooth functioning of the budget session. Sources said that the Speaker urged all members to maintain order, particularly during the question hour, which is crucial for holding the government accountable.
MLA Rajouri Muzaffar Iqbal Khan stated that there was a general consensus among all parties to avoid disruptions and ensure that the executive remains accountable to the legislature.
