Jammu :-TDD;Two days National Office Bearers (NOB) meeting of Bhartiya Mazdoor Sangh concluded at Jammu today which has been attended by all national office bearers of BMS drawn from various states and UTs wherein many important issues confronting the working classes across the country have been discussed in details.
The deliberations held in the meeting focused that PF contribution limit was last enhanced years ago, as such now it needs immediate revision because even minimum wages are higher than the present PF coverage limit of Rs 15000/-. Further the meeting deliberated that ESi limit was also last revised about five years ago and it is also lesser than minimum wages and hence it also needs immediate revision, BMS demands that EPF and ESI coverage must be provided to all the employees irrespective of scale of salary.
National office bearers meeting has decided to organize awareness program on Labour codes. BMS wants that wage code and social security code must be implemented and strongly opposes I.R. Code and OSH Code as these two codes are having many anti-workers provisions.
All India General Secretary BMS Ravinder Himte elaborated that this is the 70 year of BMS formulation and yearlong celebrations started in Bhopal and will conclude at Delhi on 23 July 2025 and in this important year many initiatives have been taken for expanding the organizational outreach of BMS. Under year long programs, BMS will start Shramik Sampark Abhiyan from 1 December to 15 December 2024 and crores of employees/workers belonging to all industries, sectors will be contacted personally and will be informed about the achievements of BMS and also the need of unions and from February 2025 onward BMS will organize industry wise seminars, symposiums, public meetings and other programs for achieving the enshrined goals of Panch parivartan thereby touching the vital issues of Samarasta (social harmony), Kutumb Parbodhan (family values), Swadeshi (self reliance), Paryaavaran Sangrakshan (environment protection) and Nagrik Kartavya (civic duty).
Further all burning issues of working classes of J&K were discussed in details including Daily Wagers, Scheme Workers including Aanganwadi, Aasha and mid-day meal workers along with administrative control of J&K Bank etc. It is being shared with great concern that daily wagers issue of J&K may not only be seen from economical angle but must be seen from social point of view also, whereby families of all these workers are speculating the regularization of their bread earners for years. It is matter of serious concern that no enhancement in honorariums of scheme workers has been effected in J&K during last 15 years when same has been revised many times in other states. So, the honorarium of scheme workers of J&K must be revised at par with their counterparts in other states and UTs. Further, it is astonishing that administrative control of J&K Bank lies with Home ministry Irrespective of Finance Ministry and BMS affiliated unions of employee’s ofthe bank had earlier represented this issue with office of Prime Minister and BMS stresses that J&K Bank be brought to the administrative control of Finance Ministry at par with other banks of India. The press conference was addressed by National General Secretary of BMS Ravindra Himte and he was accompanied by National Vice President of BMS S. Mallesam.TDD
