Bodies of Three Missing Persons, Including a Child, Recovered in Kathua; Police Rule Out Terror Angle

Kathua, March 8 (DD): The bodies of three individuals, including a 14-year-old child, who had been missing for two days, were recovered from a water channel in the upper hills of Billawar, Kathua, on Saturday.

According to details, the trio had gone missing on the evening of March 6 after leaving their homes in Lohai Malhar around 8:30 PM to attend a wedding in the area. When they did not return, frantic search efforts were launched by locals and authorities.

After nearly 60 hours of extensive searching, their bodies were located using drones and later retrieved by rescue teams. The deceased have been identified as Jogesh Singh (35) from Marhoon village, Darshan Singh (40) from Dehota village, and Baroon Singh (14) from Dehota, all residents of Billawar Tehsil.

While authorities have ruled out a terror angle, a police investigation is underway to determine the circumstances surrounding their deaths.(DD)
