Bomb Scare at Jammu Airport After Email Threat

CISF Conducts Sweeps Following Mail Warning of Blast

Jammu:DD, Security agencies launched a full-scale operation at Jammu Airport on Sunday morning after authorities received an email warning of a possible bomb attack.
The alarming message, which reportedly contained phrases such as “bomb blast” and “I have reached,” triggered immediate response protocols at the sensitive installation.

According to official sources, the threat mail was received by airport authorities during the early hours of the day. The Central Industrial Security Force (CISF), responsible for safeguarding the airport, swiftly initiated precautionary measures, including scanning of terminals, luggage areas, and perimeter zones.

Although no immediate threat was detected in the initial round of checks, detailed searches continued across the airport complex. Bomb disposal squads and sniffer dog units were also pressed into service to rule out any possibility of an explosive device.

“We received a threatening email. As per protocol, we carried out a complete sweep of the airport premises. Nothing suspicious has been found,” a senior security officer posted at the airport told the news agency Kashmir News Trust.

The incident briefly caused unease among passengers and staff, though officials emphasized that flight operations remained normal and that there was no disruption in the schedule. [KNT]
