Kathua,TDD,Vishal Kumar, hailing from a humble background in the remote Bani area of Kathua district, has qualified the Jammu and Kashmir Administrative Service (JKAS) exam on his second attempt.
Belonging to a poor family, Vishal is the son of a labourer. Despite facing numerous challenges, he has managed to achieve this remarkable accomplishment, bringing immense pride to his community.
“I come from a far-flung area where there is no proper road connectivity to my village. I had to walk for 1-2 hours just to reach the nearest school,” Vishal recounts. Education was not easily accessible, but Vishal’s determination and perseverance knew no bounds.
After completing his graduation in science from GGM Science college in Jammu, Vishal went on to pursue an MSc in Geology from the University of Jammu. He subsequently cleared the MTS (Multipurpose Health Worker) exam and is currently serving in the Government Medical College, Kathua.
“Despite the financial constraints, I would study for as long as I could. I always encouraged the youth around me to stay away from negative elements and focus on their studies,” Vishal said.
Vishal’s success story is a testament to the power of resilience and hard work. He has not only brought pride to his family but has also inspired the youth of his community to dream big and overcome the challenges they face.
