BSF foils infiltration bid along Pathankot border, Neutralizes intruder

DD Correspondent

Pathankot, (DD): In a significant security operation, the Border Security Force (BSF) foiled an infiltration attempt along the International Border (IB) in Pathankot’s BOP Tashpatan area.

The incident occurred late Monday night when BSF personnel observed suspicious movement across the border.

According to BSF officials, an unidentified intruder was spotted attempting to cross into Indian territory. The troops immediately challenged him and issued multiple warnings, but the intruder ignored the commands and continued advancing. Sensing an imminent threat, the BSF personnel opened fire, neutralizing the individual on the spot.

The identity of the intruder and his motive are yet to be ascertained. A search operation is underway in the area to rule out any accomplices or potential security threats. Sources indicate that no weapons or suspicious material have been recovered so far, but intelligence agencies are closely monitoring the situation.

Following the incident, the BSF has intensified surveillance along the border to prevent any further infiltration attempts. A strong protest is also expected to be lodged with the Pakistan Rangers, as such border violations remain a major concern for security agencies.

This latest incident comes at a time of heightened alert along the Indo-Pak border, with intelligence inputs warning of increased attempts to push infiltrators into Indian territory. Pathankot, a strategically significant region, has witnessed several infiltration attempts in the past, making security forces particularly vigilant in the area.

Authorities have urged local residents to remain alert and report any suspicious activity. Meanwhile, security forces continue to maintain a high state of readiness to counter any potential threats along the border(DD)
