Jammu: Police today claimed to have arrested two persons who brandished pistols in a joint operation by Border Security Force and Police in Satwari.
Acting swiftly on a reliable input, the police team of Police Station Satwari in a joint operation with 13 BN BSF, registered a case against two individuals who were allegedly roaming in a public area while openly displaying a pistol, causing panic and insecurity among the local population.
The accused have been identified as Manzoor Hussain, resident of Badhori, Tehsil Bari Brahamana, Samba, and Suraj, resident of Badhori, Tehsil Bari Brahamana, Samba.
As per the information received, the duo was freely moving within the jurisdiction of the police station while exhibiting a firearm, thereby creating fear and disturbing public order.
Taking prompt action, a joint team of Police Station Satwari and 13 BN BSF apprehended the suspects, following which Case FIR No. 249/2025 U/S 3/25 Arms Act was registered.
During the investigation, the team recovered one pistol along with two magazines, in addition to one pistol-like toy that was allegedly used by the accused to create fear among the public.
Police officials stated that unauthorized possession and display of a firearm in a public place poses a serious threat to public safety and order.DD
