Jammu : DD, Cantonment Board Jammu has taken a significant step towards promoting renewable energy and sustainability with the inauguration of a 75 kW Solar Power Plant at its office buildings on 13 Oct 25. The event was graced by President Cantonment Board, along with Shri Amit Kumar Mane, IDES, CEO Cantonment Board Jammu, and other dignitaries.
The solar power plant will enable the Cantonment Board to achieve self-sufficiency in electricity generation, reducing dependency on conventional power sources. The project is expected to save approximately ₹40 lakh per annum in electricity expenditure, leading to substantial savings in public funds, significantly reduce carbon emissions and contribute to a cleaner environment aligning with the Prime Minister’s “PM Surya Griha Yojana” and supports India’s renewable energy and sustainability targets.DD
