Colombia and Iran on High Alert as Venezuelan Crisis Destabilizes Regional Security

New York: Arrested Venezuelan President, Nicolas Maduro and his wife are likely to be produced before the Court in the United States in drug related cases as the regional government boils with tension of possible US intervention in their respective countries, especially Colombia.
As Venezuela remains tense and defence forces were mobilized with civilian armed groups following Maduro’s surprise abduction by the Marine soldiers of the United States of America, the government has been taken over by Delcy Rodriguez, vice president, and now interim president of Venezuela.
The regional governments have been on alert including Columbia after US President Donald Trump criticised the leadership of Columba and warned Iran.
It appears from the pastures of the US that they are intending to send soldiers on the ground in Venezuela and take over the operations of oil, and other resources.
Although the interim – president of Venezuela has cleared that she is apparently cooperating with the US, the situation on ground appears different and civil armed groups can be seen patrolling the streets with the regular Venezuelan army.
These civilians were given automatic arms and ammunition by the arrested president of Venezuela when the US war fleets surrounded the sea and blew-up several ships, killing nearly a 100 people, claiming that they were narco – smugglers. However, Venezuela contested the claim.
The ground reports are not indicating that the US would have an easy way in Venezuela, the local population apparently preparing to resist any kind of ground intervention.
The reports also question the security arrangements, and regular army, and top ranking army officers of Venezuela who had to protect their president, and how their intelligence system collapsed.
The US had easy access to the presidential palace directly without any kind of resistance from the Venezuelan army, indicating that there might be coordination between the Venezuelan Army to avoid fighting US soldiers, and let them take their president.
Meanwhile, the world has strongly condemned the US act and arrest of the Venezuelan president including the European Union. The story is developing and it will be updated as soon as possible.
