The sessions featured impactful talks from officials of the State Bank of India (SBI) and Dr. Isha Sharma, ICCCR & HR from the University of Jammu.
The day’s agenda commenced with an insightful session conducted by financial experts from State Bank of India. Addressing the cadets, the officials emphasized the critical importance of financial awareness in today’s rapidly evolving economic environment. They shed light on various financial frauds that are becoming increasingly common, such as phishing scams, identity theft, and online payment deceptions. The officers provided practical tips on how to safeguard personal and financial information, advising cadets to be cautious while making online transactions, setting secure passwords, and never sharing sensitive information. The cadets were enriched by the examples and scenarios shared, which highlighted the need to stay vigilant when dealing with money-related matters.
The SBI representatives further elaborated on numerous banking schemes and benefits tailored specifically for students. They explained options like student loans with minimal interest rates, digital banking tools for convenience, and financial management programs designed to encourage prudent financial habits from a young age. The cadets engaged enthusiastically, asking pertinent questions and expressing their eagerness to adopt these safe financial practices in their daily lives.
