CATC J4 : A POWERHOUSE OF TRANSFORMATION

Nagrota : DD, J&K Girls Bn NCC conducted the CATC J4 Camp from 07 to 16 June 2025 at NTA Nagrota, under the aegis of NCC Group HQ Jammu and JK&L Dte, drawing cadets from across Jammu, Kashmir, and Ladakh. The camp began with smooth registration, biometric updates, documentation, and nomination of camp appointments, along with selection for the prestigious IDSSC-2025 Firing Team and SNIC Srinagar.


Each day commenced with invigorating PT and yoga, followed by precision drills, squad post sessions, and spirited special guard rehearsals. Shramdaan fostered civic responsibility, while evenings buzzed with sports events that built teamwork and camaraderie.
Cadet empowerment was emphasized through a self-defence workshop by the J&K Wushu Team and a five-day Civil Defence capsule focused on emergency preparedness. Mrs. Gurpreet Bevli’s engaging etiquette workshop added grace and confidence to cadet grooming.
Firing sessions formed the camp’s highlight, with IDSSC aspirants showcasing sharpshooting skills and first-timers gaining their initial exposure under expert supervision. Newly inducted CTOs also underwent firing practice, honing both leadership and technical skills.
A series of knowledge-enrichment lectures addressed life skills, health awareness, cyber safefy, financial literacy, and addiction immense value. Military training was further reinforced through musketry, communication drills, and leadership capsules for new CTOs.
A memorable visit by Maj Gen Anupinder Singh Bevli, VSM, inspired cadets, especially SNIC and IDSSC aspirants. Excursions included a scenic trek to Nandini Hills, a visit to army aviation Squadron, Nagrota, homage at Balidan Stambh, and a morale-boosting trip to Suchetgarh Border Outpost. The screening of Uri: The Surgical Strike stirred patriotic pride.
All in all the camp witnessed the transformation of the raw cadets who came to the camp into more confident, educated, empowered and better trained cadets who are well poised to take on the challenges of life and serve their society and the nation.DD
