CBC Organises Mega Outreach Programme on Viksit Bharat at Tyakshi, Leh

Tyakshi (Leh), DD, The Central Bureau of Communication, Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Field Office Srinagar, organised a Mega Integrated Communication and Outreach Programme cum Photo Exhibition on Viksit Bharat, Swachhata, Mission LiFE, New Criminal Laws, and Vigilance Awareness at the Army Goodwill School, Tyakshi, Turtuk, Leh.

The programme aimed to raise awareness about India’s developmental journey under Viksit Bharat, promote environmental protection, encourage adoption of sustainable lifestyle practices, and spread awareness on the New Criminal Laws and Vigilance Awareness.

Resource persons from various departments including District Administration Leh, Education, Forest, Agriculture, Rural Development, Municipality, Army, and Police addressed the programme, highlighting the importance of sustainability, education, environmental protection, waste management, and law abiding civic behaviour. They also elaborated on key welfare schemes of the Government of India aimed at inclusive development.

Speaking on the occasion, Shri Ghulam Abbas, Director, CBC J&K & Ladakh Region, underlined the pivotal role of CBC in disseminating information about government initiatives. He said that CBC, as the nodal agency for field outreach, regularly organises such programmes in remote and border areas to ensure that government welfare schemes reach the grassroots level.

Chief Guest, Col. Lakshay Baniyal, Sena Medal, Commanding Officer, 3 Kumaon Rifles, Tyakshi, appreciated CBC for conducting an awareness programme in a remote border region of Ladakh. He emphasised that such initiatives play a vital role in informing and educating people about government schemes and urged participants to adopt healthy and sustainable lifestyle practices to contribute to nation building.

Field Publicity Officer, CBC Srinagar, and Nodal Officer of the Exhibition, Naseer Ahmad Rather, said that CBC’s outreach activities are aimed at sensitising the younger generation about India’s progress under Viksit Bharat and inspiring citizens to embrace sustainable living. He reiterated CBC’s commitment to effective information dissemination to ensure that the benefits of government programmes reach every citizen.

Zonal Education Planning Officer, Nubra, Shri Sonam Tsephhel, stressed the need for community engagement and judicious use of natural resources for sustainable development, while Mohammad Hassan from the Rural Development Department highlighted various government schemes for rural upliftment, emphasising public participation in achieving the vision of Viksit Bharat.

Mohammad Ali from the Police Department spoke on the New Criminal Laws, explaining their citizen centric approach focused on welfare and timely justice delivery. Resource persons from the Forest and Education Departments discussed environmental conservation and Mission LiFE, urging students to adopt eco friendly habits and protect natural resources.

As part of the event, an open quiz, painting, drawing, and debate competition were organised, and winners were felicitated with mementoes and certificates. A Shramdaan drive was also conducted to reinforce the message of cleanliness.

The programme concluded with participants taking a Swachhata Pledge, committing themselves to sustainable living and contributing to the peace and prosperity of the nation.DD
