Srinagar, (DD): The ceasefire agreement along the Line of Control (LoC) between India and Pakistan remains intact, despite a few isolated incidents of cross-border firing and a suspected improvised explosive device (IED) blast targeting an Indian Army patrol.
The Indian Army has confirmed that these minor provocations are being addressed through established military communication channels with the Pakistan Army.
“There has been no exchange of heavy-caliber weapons, and the situation remains stable. Minor incidents along the LoC are not unprecedented, and our forces continue to maintain a high state of alertness,” the Army stated in an official communication.
Sources indicate that concerns regarding these incidents have been raised at the appropriate level with Pakistan. The Army is closely monitoring developments and remains prepared to respond to any potential escalation.
This development comes amid a broader backdrop of relative peace along the LoC following the renewed ceasefire understanding between India and Pakistan in February 2021. The agreement has significantly reduced cross-border firing, though sporadic violations still occur.
