Leh:DD, Chairman/CEC, LAHDC Leh, Adv. Tashi Gyalson convened a review meeting to assess the progress of the proposed four-lane road project from Guphuks to Upshi via Stok and Martselang.
The meeting was attended by Chief Engineer (Project) Vijayak, Brig. Rahul Oberoi; Commander, 16 BRTF, Col. Shekhar Singh; Assistant Commissioner Revenue, Shabir Hussain; Sub-Divisional Magistrate Kharu, Sonam Dorjey; Executive Engineer, PDD, Anwar Hussain; Executive Engineer, Irrigation Department, Murtaza Hyder Ali; Officer Commanding, BIRCC, Shiv Raman; Team Leader, Leh Bypass Project, Er. Nisar Ahmed Pandit; Assistant Executive Engineer, Construction Division Leh, Kacho Shujaat Ali Khan; VP LBA, Rigzin Dorjey; Office Manager, Parma Stanzin; Highway Engineer, and other officials.
BRO official gave a detailed presentation on the project, outlining the proposed alignment and key technical components.
The meeting involved a thorough discussion on various technical aspects of the project, including alignment planning, execution strategies, and inter-agency coordination.
Officials also reviewed the status of key clearances related to utility shifting, particularly irrigation canals and electric poles along with structure assessments, tree compensation, and forest clearance.
The CEC stressed that this road project is of high priority for the region, both in terms of strategic importance and long-term infrastructure planning.
He directed all concerned departments and executing agencies to conduct a joint survey at the earliest and ensure seamless coordination to avoid any delays in implementation. Additionally, CEC further instructed the concerned officials to carry out a joint visit for assessment of the canal shifting by next week.DD
