Kargil:DD, Chairman and Chief Executive Councillor (CEC), LAHDC Kargil, Dr. Mohd. Jaffer Akhoon today distributed induction cookstoves to beneficiaries under the National Efficient Cooking Programme (NECP) launched by the Bureau of Energy Efficiency (BEE) and State Designated Agency, Ladakh Power Development Department (LPDD).
The distribution ceremony was attended by Executive Councillor Aga Syed Mujtaba, Councillors Aga Syed Ahmed Razvi, Altaf Hussain, Abdul Wahid, and Kadim Hussain, along with Accounts Officer to Chief Engineer PDD, Shamim Wazir, AEE Aga Murtaza, and several beneficiaries.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Akhoon congratulated all the beneficiaries and emphasized the importance of such initiatives in improving the quality of life for people, particularly those belonging to economically weaker sections of society. He also said that in future procurements of induction cookstoves to be purchased compatible with all types of utensils ensuring convenience for every household that he noted that clean cooking solutions not only reduce household pollution but also contribute to energy efficiency and sustainable living.
The CEC further highlighted that the initiative aligns with the national vision of “Green India, Clean India,” promoting environmental sustainability and cleaner energy alternatives in the region.
He appreciated the efforts of the Bureau of Energy Efficiency and LPDD for implementing such people-centric schemes in Kargil.DD
