CEC Kargil, Dr. Jaffer Akhoon Flags Off Farmers for Exposure Tour to Jammu and Kashmir

Kargil, DD: The Hon’ble Chief Executive Councillor (CEC), LAHDC Kargil, Dr. Mohd Jaffer Akhoon, today flagged off a training-cum-exposure visit of farmers to Jammu and Kashmir, organized by the Department of Horticulture, Kargil under the Mission for Integrated Development of Horticulture (MIDH) 2025–26.

A total of 75 farmers from various regions of Kargil district are participating in this exposure tour. The initiative aims to enhance their knowledge, skills, and practical understanding of modern horticultural practices, enabling them to adopt innovative techniques and improve productivity in their respective areas.

The flag-off ceremony was graced by CEC Dr. Mohd Jaffer Akhoon along with Director of Horticulture, Tsewang Punchok, Chief Horticulture Officer Kargil, Raza Ali, Horticulture Development Officers. They extended their best wishes to the participants for a successful and fruitful learning experience.

The program is aimed at empowering farmers with advanced technical knowledge and hands-on exposure to modern horticultural advancements.

During the visit, participants will tour various institutions and centers of excellence, including SKUAST Kashmir, CITH Rangreth, the Centre of Excellence, Zakura Srinagar, the Office of the Director of Horticulture, Jammu and Kashmir, and the Sericulture Department, among others.DD
