Kargil: DD, The District Administration Kargil today celebrated Rashtriya Ekta Diwas (National Unity Day) with great enthusiasm and patriotic spirit at the Tourist Facilitation Centre (TFC), Kargil, to commemorate the birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, the Iron Man of India.
The Hon’ble Chairman and Chief Executive Councillor, LAHDC Kargil, Dr. Mohammad Jaffer Akhoon, graced the occasion as the Chief Guest, while Hon’ble Member of Parliament, Ladakh, Haji Mohammad Hanifa Jan, attended as the Guest of Honour.
The event commenced with the “Run for Unity”, which was flagged off from TFC Kargil. The participants, including students, officers, and officials from various departments, joined the unity march up to Fatima Chowk and back to the TFC, symbolizing solidarity and national integration.
Following the run, the dignitaries and participants took the National Unity Pledge, reaffirming their commitment to preserving and strengthening the unity, integrity, and security of the nation.
Prominent among those present were Senior Superintendent of Police Kargil, Shri Ram R; Additional Deputy Commissioner Kargil, Imteeaz Kacho; Director Horticulture Tsewang Punchok; Superintending Engineer R&B Dr. Tsewang Thinglas; Chief Agriculture Officer, Chief Medical Officer; Tehsildar Kargil; officers from the Indian Army; district officers, and a large number of students from various schools across the district.
