Leh, DD, Chairman/CEC Adv. Tashi Gyalson was called on by Group Commander Military Intelligence, Brigadier Surjeet Kumar Singh at his office chamber. The meeting was also attended by Col. Jitendra Singh, and Major Stanzin Tsedup, Staff Officer.
The discussions focused on various Army-related matters and on how the situation has evolved after Ladakh became a Union Territory. The case of Nubra and Changthang was also discussed, as the issue of wildlife sanctuary boundary rationalisation has now moved a step closer to resolution.
The proposal has been formally approved by the State Board for Wildlife and is set to be forwarded to the National Board for Wildlife for final clearance. They also discussed other related concerns and challenges within the rationalisation process. CEC stressed that these issues should be addressed with proper consideration from a defence perspective, to which the officials agreed and assured support.
The meeting also discussed the progress under the Vibrant Villages Programme. CEC cited Demchok as an example, where reverse migration has begun after the programme’s implementation, reflecting visible improvements in the region.
Brigadier Surjeet Kumar Singh assured the CEC of his full support on the matters discussed.DD
