Centenary Celebration of Military Nursing Service Corps at Military Station Udhampur On 01 Oct 2025

Udhampur : DD, The Military Nursing Service proudly celebrated its centenary year on 01 October 2025 marking 100 years of dedicated service to the Indian Armed Forces. This momentous milestone commemorates the rich legacy of excellence, compassion and commitment that Military Nursing Service Officers have demonstrated in Operational as well as Peace areas. The centenary slogan for the celebrations is “Honouring the past, Healing the present, Inspiring the future”.

A series of events conducted in the run-up to the celebration – Medical Camp for Veer Naris, Breastfeeding Awareness Program, Screening camps for cervical cancer, HPV vaccination and World Heart Day to name a few. In addition, the Military Nursing Service is inculcating best health practices and emergency medical management like CPR training to school children and NCC cadets etc.

A young officer of Command Hospital, Northern Command, Udhampur participated in the Indian Army’s Military Nursing Service team ‘Arohini’ and brought historic laurels to the Military Nursing Service by successfully summiting Mount Lamo (6120 m), a previously unconquered peak in the Yabat Topko Valley of LaThe celebration was graced by Lt Gen Pratik Sharma SYSM, PVSM, AVSM, SM GOC-in C, Northern Command, as Chief Guest. He lauded the invaluable contributions of the Military Nursing Service officers in challenging circumstances. The GOC-in C, Northern Command also awarded commendation card to the most outstanding Military Nursing Service officers in recognition of their exemplary service.

Brig Parveen Rani, Brig MNS, Headquarters Northern Command and Principal Matron, Command Hospital, Northern Command along with Veteran MNS officers laid wreath at the War Memorial at Command Headquarters honouring the brave hearts who made the supreme sacrifice for the Nation. The centenary celebration stands as a testimony to the indomitable spirit, professionalism, and compassion of the Military Nursing Service-a legacy that continues to inspire generations.DD
