Chief Secretary Dr. Pawan Kotwal inspects ongoing construction at Directorate of Economics & Statistics, District Resource Centre

Leh, DD: The Chief Secretary of the Union Territory of Ladakh, Dr. Pawan Kotwal, conducted an inspection of the ongoing developmental works at the Directorate of Economics & Statistics building located at Melongthang, Leh.

During the inspection, Dr. Kotwal visited various units and floors of the building, where officials from the Central Public Works Department (CPWD) briefed him on the construction progress. They informed him that the building incorporates geothermal technology for energy efficiency. The Chief Secretary emphasized the need to expedite the remaining work and directed the CPWD officials to ensure timely completion.

Joint Director, PD&MD, Tsering Angdus apprised the Chief Secretary about the available piece of land in front of the DES, following which the Chief Secretary directed the Commissioner Secretary, PD&MD, to move the proposal.

Dr. Kotwal was accompanied by Commissioner Secretary, Planning Development & Monitoring Department (PD&MD), Dr. Laltinkhuma Franklin; Joint Director, PD&MD, Tsering Angdus; and Joint Director, PD&MD, Kacho Mohd Hussain.

Meanwhile, the Chief Secretary also visited the District Resource Centre of the Rural Development & Panchayati Raj Department at Agling, Leh. He inspected key facilities, including the conference hall, training hall, and office chambers. He instructed the concerned officers to ensure the optimal utilization of the infrastructure for official and training purposes.

The Chief Secretary was accompanied by Secretary, Rural Development & Panchayati Raj Department, Shashanka Ala; Assistant Commissioner Development, Leh, A.G. Zargar; Executive Engineer, Rural Engineering Wing, Leh, Mohd Abass; and District Panchayat Officer, Leh, Junaid Amin Bhat, during the visit.DD
