KISHTWAR: DD, The Leader of Opposition, and MLA Padder-Nagseni, Sunil Kumar Sharma alongwith the volunteers have rescued the body of a missing person from the raging river in Padder.

“The body was noticed floating in the river and immediately, some people alongwith the LoP jumped into the river, to recover it,” the report quoting eyewitnesses said.

It said that the body was shifted to the hospital for legal formalities, and identification purposes. Pertinently, the relief, and rescue operations continue in Chishoti village following the cloudburst on August 14, 2025.

The locals have lost more than 10 residential houses, and approximately three temples in the devastating flash flood, and mudslides that triggered following the cloudburst.

The authorities have pressed into service more machines, advanced vehicles, more volunteers, Indian Army personnel, SDRF/NDRF jawans and others have been working 24/7 in the devastated area to recover the bodies of the missing persons.DD
