Councillor Chushul Konchok Stanzin Concludes Extensive Four-Day Development Tour

Chushul (Ladakh), DD : Councillor of Chushul Constituency, Konchok Stanzin, successfully concluded an extensive four-day tour of his constituency, covering all major villages to assess ongoing developmental works and engage with local residents.
During the tour at Chushul village, he visited villages of Kargyam – Barma, Kherapullu, Satoo, and Chibra.
The Councillor also visited Maan, Merak, and Spangmik, and he covered Phobrang, Urgo, and Lukung villages.
During the tour, Stanzin conducted on-site reviews of ongoing projects under various schemes such as the Vibrant Villages Programme (VVP), District Capex, and Special Development Package (SDP) CCDF being executed through departments including PWD and RDD.
He expressed satisfaction over the progress in most villages and assured residents that remaining works would be completed at the earliest.
He also participated in a Parent-Teacher-Student Meeting at Government High School Chushul, where he attentively listened to issues raised by teachers and the Village Education Committee (VEC), including the concern over teacher shortages.
He assured the gathering that these matters would be raised with the relevant authorities.
Konchok Stanzin highlighted the tremendous transformation in the health and education sectors in the last ten years of his tenure.
He shared how various health sub-centres and PHCs in the constituency have been upgraded with better facilities, solar power, and equipment, improving basic healthcare accessibility in remote areas.
Similarly, educational institutions have been strengthened through the provisioning of infrastructure, smart classrooms, and scholarship facilitation for deserving students.
The Councillor also reflected on major developmental milestones achieved during his tenure.
These include significant expansion of telecommunication networks – with 12 BSNL towers, 6 Airtel towers, and 2 Jio towers installed across the region – which have revolutionized communication and access to digital services in remote border villages.
Other highlights of the tour included development of sports infrastructure in all four Panchayats, establishment of craft centres for every women’s society to promote local skills and self-reliance, introduction of 100-litre Solar Water Heaters, and already saturated across the constituency, with more clean energy initiatives in the pipeline.
The implementation of public utility projects that cater to both everyday needs and long-term resilience of the region.
Speaking during village interactions, Stanzin stated,
“This four-day constituency tour was not only about monitoring work but about listening to the people. Over the past ten years, we have witnessed real transformation – in roads, water, telecom, health, and education.
Chushul constituency is now a model of development in a sensitive border region. My commitment remains to ensure no village is left behind.”
