Ganderbal,(DD):In a significant push toward rural infrastructure development, Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah today inaugurated a newly constructed community marriage hall and a stone footbridge in Gadoora village of Ganderbal district.
Addressing a gathering of local residents, the Chief Minister said the projects aim to fulfill longstanding demands of the community and reflect the government’s focus on grassroots development. “Our goal is to create inclusive infrastructure that serves the daily needs of people, especially in semi-rural and rural areas,” Abdullah said during the event.
The community marriage hall is expected to serve as a vital public space for hosting weddings, social functions, and community meetings, while the newly constructed footbridge enhances connectivity and ensures safe passage for pedestrians, especially during the rainy season when streams in the area swell.
The twin inaugurations were welcomed by villagers, who expressed gratitude for the attention given to their needs. The Chief Minister was accompanied by senior National Conference leaders including Nasir Aslam Wani (Sogami) and Tanvir Sadiq.
Locals hailed the move as a positive step towards upliftment of public amenities in the area, urging further investment in road connectivity, water supply, and education infrastructure( DD)
