Jammu, (DD) Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah today led a solemn tribute to Head Constable Jagbir Singh, who was martyred in an encounter with Pakistani terrorists in Kathua district.
The wreath-laying ceremony took place at Police Headquarters, Gulshan Ground, where Deputy Chief Minister Surinder Choudhary, Minister Satish Sharma, Director General of Police Nalin Prabhatand senior officials from the police, CRPF, BSF, and Army paid their respects.
Head Constable Jagbir Singh, in charge of the Safiyan police post, was among four security personnel who made the ultimate sacrifice during the operation.
On Friday, DGP Nalin Prabhat confirmed that two Pakistani terrorists were neutralized in the encounter, while four security personnel, including Jagbir Singh, lost their lives.
The sacrifice of these bravehearts underscores the ongoing security challenges in the region and the relentless efforts of the security forces to safeguard Jammu and Kashmir.(DD)
