Srinagar, (DD): Chief Minister Omar Abdullah is set to meet Union Home Minister Amit Shah in New Delhi today, marking their third official meeting since Abdullah assumed office. The high-level discussion is expected to cover key issues concerning Jammu and Kashmir, including the restoration of statehood, security challenges, and developmental initiatives.
Sources indicate that the meeting will address the region’s security landscape in light of recent counter-insurgency operations and strategic concerns. Additionally, discussions may revolve around the political roadmap for Jammu and Kashmir, upcoming local body elections, and key infrastructure projects, such as power and road connectivity.
Last week, Amit Shah chaired a security review meeting in Delhi, attended by senior security and civil officials, including J&K Lt Governor Manoj Sinha. Abdullah’s meeting with the Home Minister today is expected to further shape the Centre’s policy approach toward Jammu and Kashmir in the coming months.(DD)
