Hints at rehabilitation of people living close to River

JAMMU: DD, Chief Minister, Omar Abdullah today visited the flood hit areas of Jammu District, and reviewed the ongoing relief operations being carried out by the different agencies.
The Chief Minister was accompanied by Divisional Commissioner, Jammu, Ramesh Kumar, IGP Bhim Sen Tuti, SSP Jammu, Joginder Singh, Indian Army officers, and other senior officials.
During the visit, Omar Abdullah also visited Fourth Bridge, Bhagwati Nagar, flood hit areas Hari Singh Park area, Gujjar Nagar Bridge, Prem Nagar, and other areas of Jammu’s low-lying in Jammu.
On his X account, the Chief Minister shared two photographs from 2014 floods and two from 2025 floods. Almost the same spots, and very similar damage. What if anything did we learn from the 2024 floods? What corrective steps were taken in last 11 years? What flood mitigation measures were implemented since October 2014? These are all questions that the elected government will seek answers to because the last 48 hours have been a shocking eye opener.DD
