Srinagar, (TDD): Chief Minister Omar Abdullah Thursday chaired the first cabinet meeting in Srinagar where he reviewed various developmental projects and discussed means to promote transparency within the bureaucracy.
Omar was sworn in as the J&K UT’s first CM. NC leader from Nowshera Surinder Choudhary was administered the oath as Deputy Chief Minister of J&K UT while Sakina Itoo, Javaid Dar, Javaid Rana and Satish Sharma were sworn in as ministers in the Omar’s cabinet.
The newly-formed cabinet reviewed significant governance challenges, focusing on streamlining processes, addressing public grievances, and promoting transparency within the bureaucracy. The team also sought feedback on various ongoing development projects.
Top priorities for the new government include bolstering infrastructure, healthcare, education, and employment opportunities across Jammu and Kashmir. Soon after being sworn in as the Chief Minister of J&K, Omar chaired the meeting of officers at the Civil Secretariat. (TDD)
