Srinagar, (DD): In response to heightened tensions along the Line of Control (LoC) and International Border, Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah is set to chair an emergency meeting with deputy commissioners (DCs) of all districts, official sources said.
According to sources, the high-level meeting will be conducted shortly via video conference and will include DCs from across the Jammu division. Some cabinet ministers are also expected to participate.
The emergency session comes in the wake of India’s airstrikes inside Pakistan following the recent terror attack in Pahalgam. The meeting, led by CM Omar, aims to assess the evolving situation in border areas and coordinate preparedness efforts.
Earlier, Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha stated he had reviewed the situation in affected districts and assured that the administration is fully geared to handle any eventuality.(DD)
