Srinagar, (DD): Chief Minister Omar Abdullah is set to participate in the 10th Governing Council Meeting of NITI Aayog in New Delhi on Saturday, where he plans to spotlight the pressing developmental needs and unique challenges facing Jammu and Kashmir.
Ahead of the meeting, CM Omar posted on X:
“Attending the 10th Governing Council Meeting of NITI Aayog in New Delhi today. I will be highlighting the concerns and development priorities of Jammu & Kashmir and advocating for greater support to address the region’s unique challenges and ensure inclusive growth for our people.”
The high-level meeting, chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, will be attended by chief ministers and administrators of states and Union territories. Key agenda items include sustainable development, economic growth, and strengthening cooperative federalism.
CM Omar is expected to press for increased investment in critical sectors such as infrastructure, connectivity, youth employment, and health, while also calling for policy flexibility tailored to the region’s terrain and socio-political context.(DD)
