Srinagar, (TDD) Chief Minister Omar Abdullah has pledged to resolve the ongoing reservation policy issue in Jammu and Kashmir within six months, according to National Conference MP Aga Ruhullah Mehdi.
Ruhullah, who met the chief minister alongside a delegation of students, said the assurance is a significant step toward addressing the concerns of protesters. “The chief minister has given a clear timeline, stating the cabinet sub-committee will finalize the matter within six months or even sooner,” he stated.
The assurance came after widespread protests by student associations outside the chief minister’s residence, demanding a fair and rational reservation policy. The demonstration saw participation from leaders such as Aga Ruhullah and PDP members Waheed ur Rehman Parra and Iltija Mufti.
Ruhullah acknowledged the progress but pointed out challenges, including the lack of notification for the Rules of Business governing the policy (TDD)
