New Delhi/Srinagar,( DD)In a swift response to concerns raised by Kashmiri students evacuated from Iran, the Chief Minister has directed officials to arrange deluxe buses for their onward journey from New Delhi to Jammu and Kashmir.
The students, who arrived in Delhi as part of a government-facilitated evacuation effort, had flagged the poor condition of the buses initially provided for their travel. Taking serious note of the issue, the Chief Minister assured that their comfort and dignity would not be compromised.
“I have directed the Resident Commissioner to immediately coordinate with JKRTC and ensure that proper deluxe buses are arranged,” the CM wrote on social media platform X.
The Chief Minister’s intervention has brought relief to many anxious families in Kashmir, who had earlier expressed concerns over the logistical arrangements following their children’s arrival in India.
Officials said the upgraded transport arrangements will begin immediately, ensuring a safer and more dignified return for the evacuated students. The move underscores the government’s commitment to student welfare and responsive governance in times of crisis.(DD)
