MENDHAR, DD: On the directions of Secretary, Health and Medical Education, Jammu and Kashmir UT, Chief Medical Officer (CMO) Poonch, Dr. Parvaiz Ahmed Khan, conducted an extensive surprise tour of Block Mendhar on Sunday to assess and strengthen healthcare facilities in remote areas.
During the visit, Dr. Khan inspected several health institutions, including Sub Center Darati KG, Sub Center AAM Ucchad, Government Primary Health Center Mankote, Government Primary Health Center Harni, and Government Sub District Hospital Mendhar. The CMO closely monitored the ongoing construction works at these facilities and evaluated the punctuality and performance of doctors and paramedical staff as per their routine duty and roster.
Dr. Khan issued a stern warning to all cadres, including doctors and paramedical staff, directing them to refrain from indulging in malpractice or private practice during official duty hours. He reminded them of their responsibilities as government employees and stressed the importance of maintaining professional integrity. An official order reinforcing these directives has also been issued.
The CMO directed the Block Medical Officer (BMO) Mendhar to ensure regular OPD services from 10:00 AM to 4:30 PM and to handle emergencies as per the assigned roster. He also instructed healthcare staff to avoid unnecessary referrals of cases that can be managed at the Sub District Hospital level, ensuring timely and effective patient care.
During his visit to Government Sub District Hospital Mendhar, Dr. Khan conducted a thorough inspection of various sections, including wards, emergency room, laboratory, casualty room, ECG room, SNCU, Gyane OPD, labour room, dental section, X-ray section, DOTS center (for national tuberculosis control programs), dispensary, Ayushman Bharat Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana (AB-PMJAY) SEHAT counter, and Pradhan Mantri Jan Aushadhi Kendra.
Dr. Khan emphasized the need to focus on national health programs and directed staff to ensure proper implementation and patient care. He reiterated that the government is committed to enhancing healthcare services in rural and remote areas, urging all medical personnel to uphold the highest standards of service and professionalism.DD
