COAS General Upendra Dwivedi Reviews Security in Paragwal Sector, Lauds Troops for Operation Sindoor

Jammu, (DD)Chief of the Army Staff (COAS), General Upendra Dwivedi, on Saturday conducted a comprehensive review of the operational preparedness in the Paragwal Sector of Jammu and Kashmir. The visit comes amid heightened security dynamics along the border and ongoing efforts to maintain peace and readiness in sensitive regions.

General Dwivedi also visited the Tiger Division, where he interacted with frontline troops and lauded their exceptional performance during Operation Sindoor—a recent military operation that underscored the Indian Army’s strategic efficiency and field capabilities.

During his address, the Army Chief stressed the importance of constant vigilance and operational agility to effectively respond to emerging threats. He praised the seamless coordination between the Indian Army and the Border Security Force (BSF), emphasizing joint efforts as crucial to sustaining border security.

Highlighting acts of individual bravery, General Dwivedi commended Assistant Commandant Neha Bhandari and her team from the BSF for their valiant defence of forward posts in the Akhnoor Sector. Her leadership was recognized as a shining example of Nari Shakti—women’s empowerment within the armed forces.

The COAS also acknowledged the valuable contributions of ex-servicemen, who played a supportive role during Operation Sindoor, reinforcing the enduring spirit of service and patriotism within the veteran community.

The visit reflects the Army’s continued commitment to operational excellence, troop welfare, and preparedness in one of the country’s most strategically significant regions.(DD)
