Doda,DD: In continuing with the spirit of undertaking employment based vocational training, Indian Army conducted a Tailoring and Stitching Course at Phagsoo Village (Thatri) under Sadhbhavana project wef 24 January 2025 to 23 February 2025. A total of eight women beneficiaries from socially and economically backward strata of society have been benefitted and trained on nuances of sewing, knitting, stitching & tailoring with an aim to promote self-reliance and employment generation, helping them to become financially independent and self-employed.It is a step towards a brighter independent future for women and would equip them with valuable skills paving way for new opportunities and elevate their status in the society. On the occasion, sewing machines were also distributed to these beneficiaries to encourage them to become bread earners of their families.During the closing ceremony the guests said that this virtuous effort by Indian Army will go a long way in amelioration of pockets of hunger and poverty and would also bring greater communal and social harmony in the region. The trained beneficiaries and villagers expressed their gratitude towards the Indian Army for the noble initiative and providing an opportunity to them to acquire skills for employment which can further help them to earn a decent livelihood.
