Jammu , TDD- Congress has condemned the attack by BJP activists on Congress HQ in Jammu today afternoon,however alert Congress workers and police prevented a clash between the two sides.
At around 5pm , some BJP activists came towards Congress HQ at Shaheedi Chowk Jammu, shouting and raising slogans against Congress & its leadership. They gharoed the Congress office and gave provocative slogans to invite clash.
The alert Congress workers immediately retaliated to the slogans and came out to counter any attack.
Seeing the large strength of Congress workers,the BJP activists ran away from the scene.
The police also prevented the clash.
Working President and former Dy CM Tara Chand intervened and prevented the Congress workers from entering into a clash and and asked them to act in self defense,in any such situation of attack on them.
Later Tara Chand condemned the attack by BJP and termed it as provocative step and assault on democracy.
Talking to a group of reporters on spot,Tara Chand termed it shameful on the part of BJP to indulge in sort of activity out of frustration,following large scale protests against the government over the issue of Amit Shah and Adani yesterday and today in Jammu and elsewhere in the country.
Meanwhile JKPCC has termed it as a cheap publicity stunt of BJP and termed it shameful. JKPCC has asked BJP leadership to advise its activists from indulging in such cheap and provocative steps.TDD
