Constitution Day Celebrated at Jammu University’s Department of Law

Jammu, TDD, The Department of Law at Jammu University celebrated Constitution Day today with an insightful session led by guest speaker, Justice Subhash Gupta (Retd.), former District and Sessions Judge. The event was held in the presence of distinguished faculty members and students, marking a significant occasion in the academic calendar.

Justice Subhash Gupta delivered an engaging lecture on the importance of the Constitution of India, highlighting its evolution from the pre-independence era to modern times. He discussed the profound impact of the Constitution in shaping India’s democratic framework and governance. His speech emphasized the need for understanding and upholding the values enshrined in the Constitution to maintain justice, equality, and liberty in society.

The session was inaugurated with a warm welcome by the Dean of the Faculty of Law, Prof. Satinder Kumar, and Prof. Manju Jamwal, Head Department of Law who felicitated Justice Gupta with a bouquet and a planter in appreciation of his valuable contributions. The event was attended by Prof. Arvind Jasrotia, Prof. Seema Nargotra, Dr. Mohd Arif, Prof. Sanjay Gupta and Dr. Kartika Bakshi of the Department of Law along with students.

The lecture was followed by a dynamic interactive session where students had the opportunity to engage with Justice Gupta, asking questions and discussing key constitutional issues. The event concluded with a group photograph, marking the successful celebration of Constitution Day at the university.

The Department of Law continues to foster a deeper understanding of the Constitution, encouraging students to explore its significance in today’s socio-political landscape.TDD
