Crime Branch files chargesheet in cheating case in Jammu

Diplomat Correspondent
Jammu: DD, The Special Crime Wing of the Crime Branch Jammu has today filed a charge sheet against one Jaan Mohd, son of Karim Bakish, resident of Kiryana Talab, Jammu, in connection with case FIR No. 14/2022 under Sections 420 and 120-B of the RPC at Police Station Special Crime Wing, Jammu.

Sharing the details, Sh. Sanjay Parihar (JKPS), SSP Crime Branch (SCW) Jammu said that the case has been investigated by Inspector Nissar Ahmed Bhat of the Special Crime Wing, and presented
the charge sheet formally before the Hon’ble Special Municipal Magistrate Court, Jammu.

He added that the case originated from a written complaint filed by one Faiz Mohd. Kasana, son of Ch. Shahab-ud-Din, resident of House No. 169, Gujjar Nagar, Jammu. The complaint alleged that mother of the accused sold a piece of land to the complainant on 2nd January 2010 via a sale deed dated 1st January 2010. This sale was witnessed by her son, Jaan Mohd.

The land in question, owned by mother of the accused, measured one Kanal and Nine Marlas and is located at Village Raika, Tehsil and District Jammu (now Tehsil Bahu), bearing Khasra No. 77 min (old) and 152 (new), Khata No. 28min, and Khewat No. 10.

However, the complainant later discovered that the said land had already been gifted to Jaan Mohd by his mother through a gift deed dated 21st September 2006 — four years prior to the alleged sale. Despite this, Jaan Mohd, who was the donee in the gift deed, acted as a witness to the subsequent sale deed, misleading the complainant.

Following a detailed and thorough investigation, the allegations were substantiated, and offenses under Sections 420 and 120-B RPC were established against both, the mother (now deceased) and her son Jaan Mohd.

Today, the Special Crime Wing team produced Jaan Mohd before the Hon’ble Court, where the charge sheet was officially filed for judicial proceedings.

This development marks a significant step towards ensuring justice and reinforcing the Crime Branch’s commitment to uncovering and prosecuting fraudulent activities.DD
