“CRPF Jawan Dismissed for Concealing Marriage to Pakistani Woman, Harboring Her Beyond Visa Validity”

Diplomat Correspondent

New Delhi, (DD)In a startling development that has raised eyebrows across security agencies, Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) jawan Munir Khan has been dismissed from service with immediate effect after it was discovered that he had married a Pakistani national, Minal Khan, and allegedly concealed this information from his superiors.

Sources within the CRPF and Home Ministry confirm that Munir Khan not only failed to disclose his marriage, which is mandatory under service rules—especially when it involves foreign nationals—but also knowingly harbored Minal Khan beyond the validity of her visa. Authorities view this as a breach of trust and a violation of both service conduct rules and national immigration laws.

The matter came to light during a routine verification process, following which intelligence agencies were alerted. After preliminary investigations, it was found that Minal Khan had entered India legally but overstayed her visa, and Munir Khan took no steps to inform the authorities or facilitate her return.

Officials have expressed grave concern, noting that the sensitive nature of CRPF postings requires strict adherence to security protocols. “This is not just a violation of service norms but a potential security risk,” a senior official said on condition of anonymity.

Further investigations are underway, and Minal Khan is also expected to face legal proceedings under the Foreigners Act, which may include deportation or prosecution depending on the circumstances.

The CRPF has maintained that disciplinary action was necessary to uphold the integrity of the force and send a clear message that breaches of protocol, particularly involving foreign nationals, will not be tolerated (DD)
