Cultural Heritage of J&K ‘जशन-ए-विरासत’ Celebrated at APS Damana

Damana : DD, A colourful cultural programme marked the resounding Annual Day celebration of Army Public School Damana on 9 December 2025. It was christened with the theme, ‘जशन-ए-विरासत’– ‘Celebrating the Heritage of J&K‘with grandeur and extravagance in the school premises.
The Chief Guest on the momentous occasion was Brig Kumar Anand, Commander Chenab Brigade & Chairman APS Damana, Mrs Surabhi Sonal, Chairperson FWO Chenab Brigade graced the occasion as the Guest of Honour. Distinguished Guests adorned the function and were given a cordial welcome by the Principal, Vice Principal, Headmistress, Staff and Students of the School. Prominent among others present on the majestic event were Lt Col R S Slathia, SO School and officers from Chenab Brigade.
The Chief Guest along with the principal and other dignitaries commenced the function by lighting the traditional lamp. The function progressed with captivating Dogri Sur – Jammu da Garoor by the students of class II enthralling the audience with their mesmerizing charm.
The programme based on the theme ‘जशन-ए-विरासत’– Celebrating the Heritage of J&K’ comprised multiple acts and dance performances wherein the children swayed to the foot tapping beats of various regional folk dances enchanting every heart. The Parents and guests were enthralled by the well-orchestrated programme which included classical and folk dances, thematic skits, musical presentations and an impressive display of the diverse artistic heritage of J&K. The Prize Distribution Ceremony honoured achievers in various Inter-house, Inter-class and other Co-curricular activities.


The programme involved more than 500 students of the Foundational Wing of the School in a spectacular performance enriched with rich music and costume. The tiny tots made everyone spellbound with the nimble footed movements in performances like ‘जन्नत-ए-बेनज़ीर, हमाराजम्मू-कश्म़ीर- A Symphony of Culture and Celebration, Culture That Blooms, Tradition That Glows, Resilient Kashmir, Spirit Unbroken, रंग, राग और ऱीत – Folk Fiesta of Jammu and Kashmir.
The Chief Guest Brig Kumar Anand, Chairman APS Damana applauded the unison efforts, dedication and participation which fortified the triumph of the function. He expressed his immense satisfaction over the concerted belief and contribution of parents, teaching staff and support staff in the smooth functioning of the event. He also exhorted the School team to keep up the good work and achieve many more laurels in future. Mrs Surabhi Sonal, Chairperson FWO Chenab Brigade applauded the achievements of the students. Mrs Pushpinder Kaur, Principal APS Damana expressed her gratitude to all the stakeholders in the grand success of the programme.
The event concluded with the vote of thanks presented by Dhvani Sharma of II A, Agastya Raina of Balvatika IIC and Kanika of IA. The programme concluded with choral singing of National Anthem followed by light refreshment to parents and students.DD
